Euan Hankey to take Robertshaw seat?
According to Autosport Euan Hankey might fill in Matt Allison’s place at Robershow Racing during the last three races of the season. The Formula 3 Euro Series-driver completed a full day of testing at Donington Park last thursday. He had an off after a rear suspension problem, but this did not influence the good impression Team manager Joe Bradley got.
“For a young lad who has never driven a touring car before, he was very impressive. Even when he had the problem, he kept his head and didn’t let it affect his concentration”, Bradley told Autosport.
“His times were just about a second off what we were doing in the races at Donington earlier this year in similar track conditions, despite this being an open test and him having to share the track with old F1 cars and slower things too, so we’re happy.”
Bradley confirmed Robertshaw Racing is talking with Euan Hankey about running the 21-year-old driver at Knockhill, Silverstone and the season finale at Brands Hatch. “Oulton Park next weekend is a bit too soon,” he said. “But Knockhill, and the rest of the season, is a definite possibility if Euan and his backers want to do it.”
