Adam Jones runs strong at Knockhill

Driving the Team Air Cool Seat Leon Adam Jones is in 9th position in the overall Drivers Championship and in 3rd position in the Independents Drivers standings, with 2 rounds and 6 races to go in the 2008 season.
Team Air Cool has been punching above its weight all season with consistent results and given the chance Jones can ‘mix-it’ with the big boys.

At Knockhill in race one Jones finished 8th after starting 11th on the grid with a well timed move on fellow ‘Midlander’ Andy Jordan to take his finishing position.

In race two Jones finished 12th and in the exciting final race of the day 10th.

Race 3 was classic touring car racing with Jones in the thick of the action running nose to tail with former BTCC Champion Matt Neal for much of the race.

Jones, speaking as the team prepare his car for the next 3 races had this to say: ”At the start of the season I wouldn’t have believed I would be in a strong third position in the Independent Drivers standings.

“We go to Silverstone with a 17 point gap to Mat Jackson who is second. With 6 races to go anything can happen and the whole team is focussed on the job at hand. We’ll take each race as it comes but however in turns out we’ve had a great season.”

Adam, competing in his third season of the BTCC, has had three podium finishes, two second’s and one third. The two remaining BTCC rounds are scheduled for Silverstone (31/08/08) and Brands Hatch (21/09/08).
