Motorbase to test Jonathan Adam
Motorbase Performance are to test Jonathan Adam, the 2008 British SEAT Cupra Champion alongside Tim Harvey, the Last British BTCC BMW Champion.
Tim Harvey the current Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion will be leading the test session, the first time the former BTCC champion has driven a S2000 spec race car.
Other drivers to be tested are James Nash who competed in the 2008 SEAT Leon Eurocup and Michael Caine who, like Tim Harvey is no stranger to Motorbase as they were team mates in the 2006 Motorbase Porsche Carrera team.
Team Boss David Bartrum writes on the teams website: “We will this week on the 28th and 29th of Oct be testing at Brands Hatch this will not be an ordinary set of test days on Tuesday for the first time in many years the last British driver to win the BTCC in a BMW will test with us at Brands.
“Tim Harvey will be in one of our cars to do some test work for us and also compare his Championship winning E36 with the current E90 also we will be giving BRDC rising star Jonathan Adam a chance to sample rear wheel drive under Tim’s watch eye.
“So weather permitting that’s day one and on day 2 another young driver James Nash will be in the BMW along with another 2009 touring car hopeful Michael Caine.
“It will be good to see what Tim and Michael who finished Champion and runner up in this years Carrera cup think of a modern BMW Tourer as they have both driven other BMW’s
“James has been driving in the seat eurocup and Jonathan has been in the same car in the uk so again it will be interesting to see what they think.”
Elsewhere on the website Bartrum goes on to say: “Don’t panic we want to keep our 2 drivers from this year but we may expand the team and also we need to keep options on the table and work with new drivers to build for the future.”
So a possible three-car team for 2009?
