Team Aon gets reined in from Oulton Park
The Ford Focus ST’s of Team Aon will have a smaller restrictor from the next round of the championship as an equalisation measure, after the recent runaway performance of the Focus.
Team Aon made the switch to Liquefied Petroleum Gas as fuel this year, and have seen a remarkable improvement in performance in the first three rounds of the championship.
Tom Chilton has taken pole position for the last two rounds, and the team took a pair of victories with Chilton & Onslow-Cole last time out at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Several teams and drivers how been vocal about the perceived performance advantage the Focus has since the team was granted permission to use a turbo charger this year, in order to balance out the loss of performance from running with LPG power units.
TOCA has now informed the team the size of the restrictor will need to be reduced from the next round of the championship at Oulton Park on June 5th-6th.
