Hamilton to miss Croft, perhaps rest of season

Matt Hamilton will not be out at Croft next weekend, and it’s possible he won’t be out again this season due to sponsorship troubles.

Entering the championship from the penultimate round at Rockingham last year with sponsorship from a facilities management company, this year Matt entered the championship alone, again with the TH Motorsport team.

On his official website, Matt explains:
“We knew we are taking a bit of a gamble at the start of the year, but felt confident that we would be able to find a commercial partner to support us in such a high profile Championship. We got very close to one big deal in particular, but it just fell apart at the last minute. The current economic climate is making companies understandably very cautious about investing in sports sponsorship.”

With the absence of a title sponsor, the team has run logos promoting the Help For Heroes charity, and has been collecting at circuits on their behalf.

Matt picked up his first points finish at the second race at Brands Hatch in May.
