Wood & Johnson will also miss Scotland round
Lea Wood and Martin Johnson will also be missing the BTCC’s round at the Knockhill circuit, with repairs outstanding on Central Group Racing’s Integra.
Lea Wood’s car suffered a gearbox failure at the final race at Silverstone, and the team have had limited time to prepare the car for Silverstone, with team principal Greg Wood, Lea’s brother, in Las Vegas on his honeymoon.
This is the second time in two races that drivers families wedding plans have impacted their weekends, as Martin Johnson’s son’s wedding meant the Boulevard Team Racing driver missed the free practice and qualifying sessions last week at Silverstone.
BTCC.net confirmed that Martin Johnson will also be missing the Knockhill race, though this time more old fashioned budget issues will sideline the team for the round, but they will return for Donington Park & Brands Hatch.
With the withdrawal of Wood & Johnson, the only older BTC-specification cars racing at Knockhill are the two Honda Integras of Tech-Speed Racing.
Only 17 cars are set to take to the grid this weekend after Forster Motorsport have already confirmed they’re focusing on a return at Donington Park.
