Rob Austin will drive his own NGTC Audi at Donington

Rob Austin will drive the team’s Audi A4 at the second round of the British Touring Car Championship, standing in for David Pinkney for the car’s much anticipated debut in the BTCC.

A Former British F3 and Ginetta racer, Austin will give the car its first run in the championship, after a partial debut at Brands Hatch where the car missed the Saturday sessions due to a missing injector. The Audi then suffered fuel pressure problems shortly after it was started up for the first time.

Rob Austin praised his team for their efforts, performing a mammoth task to get the car completed and ready at Brands Hatch, but supply problems means the car’s proper debut will now take place from round two at Donington Park, with Rob Austin behind the wheel reports BTCC.net.

The team will also be allowed to test prior to Donington Park.

The car will also drop the pink markings worn at the standard request of David Pinkney for Donington. They will instead be red in full homage to the 80’s Audi colour scheme.

BTCC.net also reports that Pinkney is missing the race weekend due to business commitments.
