Tony Gilham will be back at Donington

After a brief scare, it’s been confirmed that Tony Gilham will be back for this weekend after Triple Eight sponsor Collins Contractors upped their commitment to keep Gilham in the championship.

After Brands Hatch, one of Gilham’s main sponsors backed out, which looked like déjà vu for Triple Eight after a similar issue last season saw Phil Glew and Fabrizio Giovanardi sidelined after just the first meeting.

“First of all I have to record my sincere thanks to Phil Lavender, MD
of Collins Contractors,” said Gilham.

“When the major deal I thought I had came unstuck he was the first to step in and help out. Sarah at Sponsorship Bidder has been a real help and I have to mention the fans too. Since Brands the number signing up to my fanzone and our competitions has been fantastic. I appreciate their support very much.”

After three top ten finishes at his BTCC debut at Brands Hatch, and after some great performances by his more experienced team-mate James Nash, Gilham will be aiming to go even better this weekend at Donington Park.
