Onslow-Cole takes first points for AmD Milltek

Tom Onslow-Cole has secured the best BTCC result for AmD Milltek Racing with a seventh place finish, battling off Chevrolet’s Alex MacDowall to the finish.

Onslow-Cole was delighted to score the team’s best ever result, following from achieving the same two week’s ago at Brands Hatch, when he finished 12th in race three.

“I’m ecstatic as these guys here at AmD have been working so hard to get us here and improve the car and we had the worst day ever yesterday,” said Onslow-Cole to TouringCarTimes.

“We had an electrical fault which ran us all round the room, and they sorted us out.”

“First points for AmD Milltek and we’re now involved in the championship!”

Onslow-Cole found himself in the top ten after a good start, and held of the Chevrolet of the 20-year-old MacDowall, which fell prey to Tony Gilham’s Triple Eight Vectra on the final lap.

“We’ve got a good package to work with….we obviously had a bit of luck in the race with Jackson going off and a few other incidents here and there, but we genuinely had the pace to run in that position, and a few more changes and we’ll see what we can do in the next one.”
