Indie leader Jordan in both title battles after Donington

Eurotech Racing’s Andrew Jordan left his home race meeting at Donington Park firmly in two title battles, after taking his first win of the season in the second race.

Jordan’s Honda Civic was on the pace from the outset, despite carrying 36kg of success ballast. He finished second in the first race, before going one better in race two.

Despite fortunes not going his way in the final race, Jordan tops the independents’ standings, and is only five points behind Jason Plato in the overall standings.

On his win, Jordan told TouringCarTimes: “It was a nice relief. The guys are one of the closest-knit teams down this pitlane, so it was nice to finally see their hard work over the winter pay off. It was great for it to click at this one, as we came close at Brands Hatch.”

The final race of the day saw an off-track excursion and subsequent pitstop limit Jordan to 13th, but he did pick up an extra point for fastest lap.

He said: “We set the fastest lap with 45kg on and the car is really hooked up. You have got to take the positives. I think we have been the quickest package, even with the 36kg of weight on for most of the weekend.

“I think going to Thruxton we will be strong – we have just got to keep racking up the good points. There is a long way to go, but we are in a nice position at the moment.”
