James Kaye and AmD Tuning will also miss Knockhill

It’s now been confirmed that AmD Tuning and their eighth-generation Honda Civic will also miss this weekend’s race at Knockhill as driver James Kaye is suffering with a knee injury.

The 49-year-old aggravated a knee injury last time out at Snetterton, and so will miss his second event of the season after also missing the Oulton Park round back in June.

“I’m sorry to say we are not going to be at Knockhill this weekend due to James twisting a ligament in his knee,” said Hollamby to AUTOSPORT.

“This is an old injury, but has blown up like a balloon since Snetterton. Rest assured, all should be well by Rockingham.”

This development will almost certainly put Kaye out of contention for the Jack Sears Trophy for Super 2000 cars.

Despite a strong start to the season with class wins at Brands Hatch and Donington Park, Kaye has not been on the top step since, whilst JWT Performance’s Lea Wood now has a commanding lead in the class with nine wins to closest rival, Motorbase Performance’s Liam Griffin’s four.
