Martin Depper tests for Eurotech Racing at Donington Park

45-year-old Martin Depper has tested Eurotech Racing’s Honda Civic at Donington Park ahead of an expected return to the British Touring Car Championship in 2014.

Depper last drove in the BTCC in the 2010 season, competing in one of Forster Motorsport’s BMW 320si E90s in their only season in the Championship, scoring a best result of 12th at Croft and finishing 25th in the standings and out of the points.

More recently, Depper drove in two rounds of the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup series at Silverstone in 2012, taking pole position and winning both of the races he competed in while driving a Volkswagen Scirocco R.

Depper looks set to take over from Jeff Smith, who’s raced for the Eurotech Racing team for the past three years as team-mate to 2013 champion Andrew Jordan.

Smith missed the last round of the Championship at Brands Hatch and is understood to be leaving the team to focus on other commitments next year.
