Team BMR against the clock to repair Warren Scott’s VW for qualifying

Team BMR face a race against the clock to repair team owner/driver Warren Scott’s Volkswagen CC for qualifying this afternoon, after the 43-year-old crashed out in the final moments of the second free practice session at Brands Hatch this afternoon.

Scott, who is being coached this weekend by the team’s former driver Alain Menu, was eighth fastest in FP1 in the morning, and in FP2 was 17th fastest before he went off at the exit of Paddock Hill bend, running over the kerbs and spinning into the barrier, with the Volkswagen CC suffering significant front-end damage.

The team’s other cars of Colin Turkington, Aron Smith and Jason Plato ended the session competitively placed in first, third and fourth respectively.

The qualifying session is due to take place at 15:40 BST.
