Adam Morgan targeting more silverware on finals race day
Ciceley Racing’s Adam Morgan is targeting podiums and a second placed finish in the independents’ standings after another strong showing on the Brands Hatch GP circuit.
Morgan qualified his Mercedes A-Class third behind Mat Jackson and Aron Smith, on a track where he took his first BTCC win last season after Jason Plato’s disqualification in race two.
The former Ginetta Supercup champion is targeting more silverware on raceday, including in his bid to close the 20-point gap to Plato in the independents’ standing.
Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Morgan said: “I think our car is fairly suited to the high-speed corners around the back here. To put it in the top three is mega, so a massive thank you to everyone in the team. Hopefully we can get a result for them tomorrow.
“I’d love to get on the podium one more time for the boys, who have done a mega job all year. I’ll do my best for them.”
Assessing his tactics on raceday, Morgan added: “I’ve got my own championship to think about, I can still grab second in the independents which I’d love, so I’ve got a lot to do for myself.
“But at the same time I don’t want to be in anyone’s way for the championship, so I’m going to drive sensibly.”
