Mat Jackson to start from pole after race one fastest lap
Mat Jackson will start from pole in race two at Brands Hatch after dominating the opening race of the day.
The top three finishers from race one will line up in the same order for race two, with Aron Smith and Adam Morgan joining Jackson as the only drivers to dip below the 1:31.5 barrier.
Dave Newsham, Tom Ingram, Jack Goff and Andrew Jordan all put a difficult first race behind them to qualify in the top ten. The Triple Eight duo of Goff and Jordan both pitted on the formation lap to get clear air, while Ingram pitted at the end of lap one.
Newsham’s race seemed to be over at the end of lap one, ending in the barriers on the GP loop, but the Power Maxed Racing driver made it back to the pits under the safety car and put in a time good enough for fourth on the grid for race two.
Championship contenders Jason Plato and Colin Turkington will line up eighth and ninth, while the Honda pairing of Matt Neal and championship leader Gordon Shedden will start from outside the top ten.
