Dusan Borkovic delighted with upgraded SEAT in Valencia

2015 European Touring Car Cup Single-Make Trophy champion Dusan Borkovic makes the switch to the TCR International Series for 2016, staying with the Hungarian B3 Racing team, now joined by Mat’o Homola and Attila Tassi, and was impressed with the upgrades to the new 2016-spec SEAT León Cup Racer at the Series’ Balance of Performance test.

The 31-year-old Serbian will be back on the world stage after an aborted campaign in the World Touring Car Championship in 2015, which ended after two race weekends. Borkovic made a late switch to the ETCC, and took a hard-fought championship victory with B3 Racing, comfortably adapting to the TCR-specification SEAT from the TC1 class Honda Civic WTCC, despite his height of 2.07m.

“I am really satisfied with the first and only pre-season test,” said Borkovic.

“I expected the SEAT to be upgraded and I am not disappointed. I will have to learn a lot this year about the car and new tyres, Michelin. Not using tyre warmers is also new for me and will change tactics for qualifying and races a lot.

“I have made an instant connection with my new engineer, we worked on quite a lot of things until the rain started in the late afternoon (on Monday). The weather all day wasn’t the best, but we made the best out of it. All the cars are brand new and upgraded from the last year, all the drivers are great, it will be a great competition and I am looking forward to that. I really believe this season will be a great challenge for me.”
