Stefano Comini heads FP1 at Estoril

Reigning TCR International Series champion Stefano Comini headed the first free practice session of the weekend at Estoril in Portugal.

The Leopard Racing driver lapped the circuit in 2:02.233 and was a full 0.860 seconds ahead of WestCoast Racing driver Gianni Morbidelli in second place.

Hungarian SEAT driver Attila Tassi claimed the third fastest time, just over 1.1 seconds from Comini.

Finnish driver Aku Pellinen made it two Hondas in the top five, just 0.092 seconds behind Tassi in third place.

Jean-Karl Vernay claimed position five, 1.3 seconds from the top, with Francisco Mora in position six for the Spanish SEAT team Baporo Motorsport.

Former WTCC driver Dusan Borkovic and Italian Subaru driver Luca Rangoni rounded off the top eight, both within 2.2 seconds from Comini’s top time.

Next up is the second free practice session, starting at 10:15 local time tomorrow.
