Brigliadori and Viberti share pole positions as Colciago hits trouble
Imerio Brigliadori and Alberto Viberti took pole position for Race 1 and 2 respectively at Misano, Italy, in the second round of the Campionato Italiano Turismo, the Italian leg of the TCR Series and an event of the European TCR Trophy.
Both drivers took pole at the wheel of a SEAT León Cup Racer, with the BF Racing team principal leading team-mates Samuele Piccin and Daniele Verrocchio, completing a BF 1-2-3 for the first race. Championship leader Roberto Colciago was forced to sit out of qualifying as his AGR Honda Civic TCR needed to have both the engine and the gearbox replaced after issues in free practice. There was drama for BRC Racing’s Alberto Viberti as well, as a broken driveshaft meant he was forced to skip the first segment of qualifying.
However, the BRC Racing crew managed to change the piece in time for the following session, with the driver giving them a huge reward by claiming pole position for the second race after completing a single lap in qualifying. The BF Racing SEATs continued to shine however, as Vincenzo Montalbano came second in the car he shares with Brigliadori. Romy Dall’Antonia finished third in the other BF SEAT, the same car Piccin used in the first session. Marco Costamagna was fourth for BRC Racing.
The first race will start at 18.55 CET and will last 25 minutes + 1 lap.
