The two Smiths pick up warnings in the final race of 2016

Jeff and Aron Smith were the only drivers to receive penalties from the stewards during the final race of the 2016 BTCC season at Brands Hatch.

Eurotech Racing Honda driver Jeff Smith was given a verbal warning for an incident in Race 1 with Team Hard’s Jake Hill, while Team BKR driver Aron Smith was also given a warning after race-ending contact with the AmD Tuning Audi S3 of Ollie Jackson.

The only other matter outstanding from the race weekend is the hearing of Triple Eight’s appeal over Josh Cook’s exclusion, however this will have no bearing on the top ten positions in the drivers’ championship.
