Guangzhou Grid Motorsport detail the Senova TCR programme

Chinese motorsports outfit Guangzhou Grid Motorsport have revealed the technical details of the Senova D50 TCR, a China-based TCR programme which was revealed last weekend in Shanghai.

The team have revealed that although the Senova D50 TCR is built to TCR regulations, much like the Vesta TCR raced by Lada Sport in the TCR Russia series, it will only run in its home market – meaning it’s not destined to compete outside the new TCR China series.

Assisting in the development of the car are Italian-based racing experts Hexathron Racing, which are also heavily involved in the Kia Racing CTCC programme with the development of the K3 2.0T. Hexathron are also prominent in Europe, supporting Ciceley Racing in the BTCC and Münnich Motorsport in the WTCC.

The Senova D50 is set to race competitively later this year in the Greater China Cup, with a lower-spec Cup version, before a full TCR-specification variant, with a Sadev six-speed sequential gearbox, coupled with a 320bhp Senova 2.0 turbocharged engine, will be available for 2018.
