Just two drivers on softs for Race 3 – though wets may be the order of the day
The Dunlop tyre allocations for Brands Hatch race day have been confirmed, with the majority of the field required to run the option soft tyre in Races 1 and 2, with only Team Parker Racing’s Stephen Jelley and Eurotech Racing’s Brett Smith running the softs in Race 3, though it may not matter, as rain is forecast throughout most of the day.
There’s almost a 50/50 split on tyre selections between Races 1 and 2, with the bulk of the field already known heading into the weekend, with only Motorbase’s Rory Butcher, Maximum Motorsport’s Stewart Lines, Eurotech’s Brett Smith and Triple Eight’s Josh Cook’s tyre choices left to be determined.
Pole-sitter Jack Goff will run the harder tyre in Race 1, while Mercedes driver Aiden Moffat alongside him has the soft tyre for Race 1, as does championship leader Ash Sutton, starting third in the Team BMR Subaru Levorg.
Championship contender Colin Turkington is set to run the Dunlop soft tyre in Race 2 in his West Surrey Racing BMW 125i M Sport.
All the tyre choices may be academic, as rain is forecast throughout most of the day at the Kent circuit. If a driver is unable to use their soft tyres in their allocated race, they carry them over to the next race.
