Jordi Gené will join TCR Italy season finale for SEAT

Jordi Gené will join the TCR Italy season finale at Monza this weekend behind the wheel of a SEAT León TCR.

The Spaniard last raced in the season finale of the 2015 season which was run as a class in the Campionato Italiano Superturismo, helping Valentina Albanese to the title, and has been entered by SEAT Motorsport for the season finale to help the Spanish marque’s bid for the manufacturers’ title.

Gené has not raced a full season since 2015, when he finished third overall in the TCR International Series for Craft-Bamboo Racing, though has been regularly competing in endurance events with SEAT, as well as continuing in his role as test driver for SEAT Sport.

Gené joins a bolstered entry list for the championship finale of 16 TCR-specification cars, with former TCR International Series rival Stefano Comini part of the field in the Top Run Motorsport Subaru WRX STi TCR, and with International Series regular Giacomo Altoè making his second appearance of the season, this time in a Target Competition-run Audi RS 3 LMS.
