Andrew Jordan heads BTCC challenge at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Andrew Jordan once again topped the times during a special BTCC shootout during the 2018 running of the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The BMW Pirtek Racing driver was quickest of the six BTCC drivers in action on the famous 1.16 mile hillclimb, topping every timed session that took place during the three-day long event.

In the final shootout on Sunday, Jordan posted a best time of 52.58s at the wheel of his BMW 125i M Sport to secure top BTCC honours – well clear of the Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall of Josh Cook.

It allowed Jordan to retain the title he won back in 2016 when he was fastest up the hill driving a Motorbase Performance-run Ford Focus.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be the BTCC’s King of the Hill and a great way to get my first ‘win’ of the season,” he said. “The Goodwood hillclimb is an incredible challenge and you have to straddle that fine line between being incredibly brave and a bit cautious to get to the top in the best time.

“I’ve had a fantastic time so my thanks go to the guys from WSR for preparing the car and to the Duke of Richmond and his organising team at Goodwood for putting on such an incredible event again. I’m certain this success can inspire us to go and take BMW Pirtek Racing’s first BTCC race win of the year very soon.”

Jordan’s time was the 13th best overall, with sportscar ace Romain Dumas quickest in the Volkswagen IDR car that won at Pikes Peak.
