MG unveil TCR concept at Auto Shanghai

MG, owned by Chinese parent company SAIC Motors, has unveiled a TCR concept during the Auto Shanghai show called the MG6 XPOWER.

MG has not yet released any details on whether the concept race car will materialise into a TCR programme.

Some technical details of the race car were released in the form of a two-litre turbo charged engine with 320 hp/460 Nm and a six-speed sequential gearbox from Xtrac, as well as a price of €100,000, €30,000 under the TCR cost cap.

The car is based on the MG6 model that was launched in 2017 and is currently only being sold in China while its predecessor, also called the MG6, was sold in Europe until 2016 and was raced with factory support in the BTCC by Triple Eight until 2017.
