Dan Lloyd given five-place grid drop for Hockenheim Race 2

Dan Lloyd has been the only driver penalised at the end of an eventful first race for the TCR Europe series in Germany, with the British driver given a five-place grid drop for an incident with DG Sport Competition driver Aurélien Comte on lap two.

The two drivers came together at Turn 2, with Lloyd hitting the rear quarter of Comte’s Peugeot 308TCR as he closed the door.

Comte continued on, and went on to finish the race in seventh place, while it was Lloyd who came off worst, with his race ending in the gravel.

Lloyd was set to start from third for tomorrow’s second race with the top ten reversed grid, but now will now start eighth, with WRT’s Santiago Urrutia promoted to third in his place behind pole-sitter Julien Briché’s Peugeot and Jessica Bäckman’s Target Hyundai.
