Accident rules Warren Scott out of Croft meeting

Warren Scott will not now compete in the latest rounds of the Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK Championship at Croft after being declared unfit to race after an accident.

The team principal of the BMR British Touring Car Championship team was set to make his return to touring car competition in the meeting, having been named on the entry for the Croft weekend at the wheel of a Subaru Levorg.

However, Scott was involved in a road traffic collision on Tuesday evening which resulted in him being diagnosed with concussion – which immediately ruled him out of the race weekend.

A statement issued by the team said that it planned to compete ‘in a round later on in the year once Warren has made a full recovery’.

The withdrawal of the Subaru means a seven car field is set to compete in North Yorkshire, with Henry Neal, Alex Day and Richard Woods being the three drivers eligible for the Touring Car Trophy.
