Lewis Kent withdraws from 2026 TCR UK season
Double TCR UK champion Lewis Kent has announced that he will withdraw from the 2026 TCR UK season due to budget reasons connected to his crash during the first round at Brands Hatch.
“Unfortunately due to the severe damage we sustained at Brands Hatch at round one this year our budget has run dry, which means we are having to pull out of the championship for the time being,” wrote Kent on his social channels.
Kent drove a Lynk & Co 03 TCR for SVG Motorsport and is placed eighth overall after the first two race weekends of 2026.
The Brit was involved in a start crash during the first round of the season at Brands Hatch where he hit Max Hall who had bogged down.
Kent was able to get back for the remainder of the season opener and the next round at Croft, but the repair bill from that crash has put a premature end to his season.
“I want to put out a huge thank you to SVG Motorsport for giving me a car that honestly was worthy of at least one win this year, I feel like we turned a corner at Croft and could have went on to big things,” wrote Kent.
“Hopefully I will be back on track soon and battling for championships.”
SVG Motorsport have announced that they are looking for a new driver for their Lynk & Co 03 TCR for the remaining TCR UK rounds.
