Callum Newsham claims dominant pole at Oulton Park
Callum Newsham claimed a dominant pole position in a decimated TCR UK field of just eight cars at Oulton Park.
The JH Racing driver lapped the circuit, which went from damp to dry, in 1:26.583 seconds with his Hyundai Elantra N TCR to beat Honda driver Harry Bloor by more than seven tenths of a second.
Max Hall was third fastest and over a second from the pole time.
Rod McGovern was fastest of the Cupra drivers in fourth place for Power Maxed Racing, 1.329 seconds from Newsham.
Brad Hutchison took his Capture Motorsport-prepared Cupra to fifth place, 1.443 seconds from pole.
Points leader Max Hart claimed sixth place on the grid ahead of former points leader Jenson O’Neill Going, while Barry-John McHenry was eighth and last.
