Callum Newsham claims Croft pole position

Callum Newsham claimed the TCR UK pole position at Croft by close to half a second over Brad Hutchison.

The Hyundai driver, who is placed second overall, lapped the circuit in 1:21.562 to beat Cupra driver Hutchison by 0.493 seconds.

Lynk & Co 03 TCR driver Lewis Kent claimed third place despite having one of his fastest laps disallowed for exceeding track limits and was just 27 thousands of a second from second place.

Max Hall headed five Hondas in fourth place and was just 47 thousands of a second behind Kent.

Harry Bloor was fifth fastest ahead of Max Hart and Carl Boardley, who was the final driver within one second of the pole time.

Points leader Jenson O’Neill-Going could only manage the eighth fastest time, 1.032 seconds from Newsham, while Alastair Kellett (Audi) and Rod McGovern (Cupra) rounding off the top ten.

12 cars took part in the qualifying session ahead of the first race of the weekend which starts at 12:05 local time/13:05 CEST on Sunday.
