Callum Newsham beats Max Hart by 0.052s to Snetterton pole

Callum Newsham beat Max Hart to pole position by just 52 thousands of a second in qualifying for the TCR UK round at Snetterton.

The Hyundai driver lapped the circuit in 1:56.585 with a clean run while Honda driver Hart had one of his lap times deleted for exceeding track limits.

DT Racing Developments driver Harry Bloor claimed third on the grid, half a second from pole, while points leader Jenson O’Neill-Going was fourth fastest, just below a second from Newsham’s time.

Double champion Carl Boardley made it four Hondas in the top five, albeit more than 1.2 seconds from pole position.

Brad Hutchison was fastest of the Cupra drivers in sixth place, just 37 thousands of a second slower than Boardley, while rival Cupra driver Rod McGovern was seventh fastest.

Max Hall rounded off the top eight, 1.6 seconds from pole, with a total of 12 cars taking part in the qualifying session.

The first race of the weekends starts at 10:10 local time/11:10 CEST on Sunday.
