Luca Engstler keeps Spielberg win as stewards take no further action over Filippi incident

Luca Engstler has kept his maiden TCR Europe series victory after the Red Bull Ring stewards decided to take no further action over the German’s race-deciding clash with Luca Filippi.

The two Hyundai drivers came together on the final lap of an incident-packed Race 2 in Austria, with Engstler tagging Filippi and sending the Italian crashing into the barriers.

Filippi said post-race that he was not having strong emotions about the clash, despite losing a potential maiden series win himself, as he didn’t think Engstler deliberately hit him.

The stewards have since reviewed the incident and confirmed that they will not take any further action, cementing Engstler’s breakthrough triumph.
