Dan Lloyd delighted with season’s best qualifying in the TCR Europe series

Dan Lloyd has placed his Brutal Fish Racing Team Honda Civic TCR second on the grid for the first race of the weekend at Oschersleben, both his and the team’s best result in what’s been a challenging season for the Slovakian squad.

Lloyd was three-tenths of a second away from Andreas Bäckman’s Target Competition Hyundai in Q2, securing a spot on the front row for Race 1, where he hopes will put him in a good place to take his first win of the season.

“We made a good improvement to the car overnight and the car felt really good. My qualifying lap wasn’t perfect, but I’m sure no one else’s was either,” said Lloyd to TouringCarTimes.

“I’m a bit confused that there’s three and a half tenths to pole to a car with full ballast on,” he added. “But, I’m really happy with everything as that’s the best qualifying I’ve had so far in TCR Europe.

“I’m really looking forward to the race and getting a good start off the line and then seeing what I can do.”
