Enel X appointed supplier for ETCR charging units

Enel X has been appointed official supplier for charging units to the ETCR by WSC, the TCR concept’s promoter.

“Enel X is a leading company in the development of strategies and products for sustainable mobility worldwide. Having secured their support for the supply of bespoke chargers tailored for ETCR cars makes us really proud,” said WSC president Marcello Lotti.

“The experience they have already gained through their involvement in other motorsport categories speaks for itself and we are very much looking forward to establishing a long and successful collaboration with them.”

The company will supply fast-charging stations from March next year to the circuits where the ETCR will race.

Two different types of movable charging stations will be supplied, a single 60kW connector rapid charger and a double connector charger with two 60kW outputs. WSC state that the ETCR cars can be fully charged in less than one hour.

“By partnering with ETCR, we are strengthening our technological leadership in the international motorsport world, confirming our ability to design innovative solutions that can fully adapt to the diverse needs of racing championships,” said Francesco Venturini, head of Enel X.

“Our collaborations within the world of electric motorsport allow us to develop and test new solutions for electric racing vehicles that can then be replicated on the street for everyday use, with the aim of boosting technological innovation in electric mobility and improving the overall electric vehicle experience.”
