Mauro Guastamacchia tops official TCR Italy pre-season test at Misano

Aggressive Team driver Mauro Guastamacchia topped the official TCR Italy pre-season test at Misano.

The Hyundai i30 N TCR driver lapped the circuit in 1:42.899 and was surprised to end up on top.

“I did not expect this result. In the second part of the afternoon we tried a race simulation and the fastest lap came out. I am really pleased because I find myself at ease with the car and this is the best way to start the season,” said Guastamacchia.

Race Lab driver Matteo Poloni was second fastest behind the wheel of his Audi RS 3 LMS, close to a second slower than Guastamacchia.

Audi colleague Edoardo Necchi was third fastest ahead of Honda Civic Type-R TCR driver Federico Paolino of BD Racing in fourth.

A total of 13 drivers took part in the test, including drivers from the TCR DSG Italy Endurance championship, ahead of the TCR Italy season start at Mugello on July 17-19th.
