Damiano Reduzzi stripped of Imola victory, Salvatore Tavano inherits win

Damiano Reduzzi has been stripped of his victory in the final race of the weekend at Imola, the third time in six TCR Italy championship races that the winner has been demoted.

The Team WRT Trico driver was penalised for an incident with Marco Pellegrini during the last lap of the race.

The stewards handed him a five-second penalty, dropping him from first to fifth place.

Scuderia del Girasole driver Tavano crossed the line in third position but was elevated to first as both Reduzzi and Pellegrini, who crossed the finishing line ahead of him, were penalised.

The new result has reduced Eric Brigliadori’s points lead to just three points ahead of Tavano.
