Dan Cammish leaves Team Dynamics

Dan Cammish is to leave Team Dynamics after three seasons after the Honda squad revealed that the eight time race winner will not be part of its 2021 BTCC line-up.

The former Porsche Carrera Cup champion Dynamics in 2018 following the departure of Gordon Shedden and has since gone on to secure more than 30 podium finishes at the wheel of the FK8 Honda Civic.

Cammish came within two laps of winning the title in 2019 before brake failure in the season finale at Brands Hatch saw Colin Turkington instead secure the championship, whilst he secured his best points score to date last year – despite the campaign being three races shorter than usual as a result of COVID-19.

Dynamics will reveal the first member of its driver line-up on Friday.

“Whilst it is really disappointing for me, I have to thank Dynamics for their faith in bringing me into the Championship three years ago,” Cammish said.

“If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have got my ‘big break’ in the BTCC and managed to do what I have done.

“We have parted on exceptional terms and I will be keeping in contact going forward. You never know what the future will bring.”

Team manager James Rodgers admitted there was disappointment at not being able to keep Cammish onboard.

“Dan is and always will be part of the Dynamics family,” he said. “We have tried very hard to keep Dan as part of the team for 2021, but it was not to be, and we have had to part ways.
