Oliver Webb completes Romeo Ferraris line-up

Oliver Webb has been named as the fourth and final member of the Romeo Ferraris line-up for the inaugural PURE ETCR season.

The Briton will line-up alongside Stefano Coletti, Luca Filippi and Rodrigo Baptista to drive one of the Alfa Romeo Giulia ETCR cars built by the team over the winter, with the new season kicking off in Italy later this month.

Webb has already tested the car to provide feedback as someone who has previous experience of electric machinery, having raced in the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy and also tested in Formula E.

The 30-year-old has previously raced in a wide range of different cars, including British F3 and the Le Mans 24 Hours where he has been part of the ByKolles LMP1 line-up.

Webb will share a car will Baptista this season, with the other car shared between Coletti and Filippi.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the PURE ETCR series with Romeo Ferraris,” Webb said. “It’s a new venture for me with my first time in touring cars and also my first time in an electric series full time.

“I can’t wait for the challenge and with limited testing ahead I’m excited to keep progressing my Knowledge of the car and working closely with the team for some great results in 2021”.

Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris operations manager, was pleased to welcome Webb into the line-up.

“We are very happy to welcome Oliver in the team, completing our line-up for the 2021 PURE ETCR,” she said. “We have already worked well together at the Vallelunga tests earlier this month, where Oliver contributed his experience, with a very positive approach.

“Thanks to him, Stefano, Luca and Rodrigo, we will have a high profile team that will allow us to take up the new challenge of electric racing.”
