Mattias Ekström claims pole position for Super Final A

Cupra X Zengo Motorsport driver Mattias Ekström was fastest in the Time Trial A at the Hungaroring to score pole position for the Super Final A.

Ekström was the third driver to venture onto the track with his Cupra e-Racer, becoming the fastest driver with a lap time of 2:26.341.

Philipp Eng, driving the Alfa Romeo Giulia of Romeo Ferraris, missed his braking point and went wide at the first two corners, with the Austrian completing his flying lap in 2:26.550 to qualify in second place.

Series newcomer Luigi Ferrara of Romeo Ferraris completed his first ever PURE ETCR time trial. The Italian locked the wheels at Turn 2 and had an untidy lap to set a lap time of 2:27.249, which was good enough to finish the session in third place.

Hyundai Motorsport N driver Augusto Farfus had a tidy start to the lap, but a bad third sector ruined his chances, only managing to finish in fourth place at the end of the session.

John Filippi, driving the sister Hyundai Veloster N ETCR, completed his flying lap in 2:27.811 to qualify in fifth place.

Jordi Gené of Zengo Motorsport X was the last driver on track at Time Trial A. The Spaniard made a mistake at the penultimate corner, completing his lap in 2:28.101 to qualify in sixth place.

The ETCR returns to action at the Hungaroring for Time Trial B at 10:30 CEST.
