Supercars Gen3 regulations delayed until 2023

The Supercars Championship organisation has confirmed that the introduction of the new Gen3 regulations has been delayed until 2023, the third delay of the programme since its announcement.

The organisation blames outside factors:

“…including the ongoing challenges with international supply chains and domestic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are among the major contributing factors.”

The regulations were originally set for introduction in 2021, then pushed to 2022 and earlier this year it was moved to mid-2022.

Supercars has confirmed that the Gen3 development prototype will be publicly shown for the first time during the Bathurst 1000 on December 3rd and that development of prototypes will continue according to plan despite the most recent delay.
