Newcomer Mark Havers joins growing TCR UK grid
Series newcomer Mark Havers has become the latest addition to the grid for the 2022 TCR UK season after confirming his place on the grid for the new campaign.
Havers will move to sprint racing having previously competed in endurance events with the Cupra TCR that he will now use in 2022 with his T4 Motorsport team.
“I thrive when outside my comfort zone and racing has certainly pushed me beyond what I thought I could do,” he said. “Every minute on the track is a learning experience and the TCR machines are a massive step-up from the club-specification cars I have raced previously.
“I relish the opportunity to compete with more experienced and successful drivers in like-for-like machinery. It means my performance and results are very much in my hands and it will be up to me to maximise the opportunities.
“The level playing field offers me the chance to measure my progress throughout the season. I am realistic about what can be achieved in what will inevitably be a learning year, but I look forward to the challenge and enjoying being part of a large and competitive grid.”
Andy Wilmot is also set to return to the grid this season having acquired one of the ex-Bryan Herta Racing Hyundais from Maximum Motorsport to replace the Cupra he sold to Callum Newsham.
