Gabriel Lusquiños inks Crown Racing deal

Crown Racing will make its TCR South America debut this year and has confirmed Stock Car Lights race winner Gabriel Lusquinos for one of its Hondas.

“I’m very excited about this new stage of my career,” said Lusquinos.

The 27-year-old Brazilian raced in Stock Light Brazil last year, finishing eighth overall, and claimed the 2015 Formula 16000 Copa Do Brazil title.

“This will be my first full season in a front-wheel drive car and it’s a car that I really enjoy driving and makes me even more motivated for the season,” said Lusquinos.

The team will field two Honda Civic Type R TCRs this year, with the identity of the second driver yet to be confirmed.

“With pride and great enthusiasm, Crown Racing starts this new process with TCR South America, a championship that has already shown strong growth in South America,” said Gustavo Câmara, technical manager of Crown Racing.

“We have a great challenge ahead of us to adapt to this category with our drivers. We hope this will be a season of growth and adaptation ahead of many seasons in TCR South America.”
