Mikel Azcona and Maxime Martin fastest in night practice at Pau-Ville

Hyundai Motorsport N driver Mikel Azcona and series newcomer Maxime Martin of Romeo Ferraris set the fastest lap times in the ETCR night free practice sessions at Pau-Ville.

Azcona, driving the Hyundai Veloster N ETCR, pipped reigning champion Mattias Ekström (Cupra e-Racer) in his last attempt to be the fastest driver in the Pool Furious with a lap time of 1:22.534, 0.659 seconds faster than the Swede.

Kevin Ceccon, driving the second Hyundai was third, ahead of Cupra driver Jordi Gené. Giovanni Venturini and Bruno Spengler of Romeo Ferraris closed the classification, with the Canadian 2.5 seconds off the pace.

Martin didn’t waste time adapting to the Giulia ETCR, becoming the fastest driver of the Pool Fast, setting a lap time of 1:22.458, with Cupra drivers Adrien Tambay and Tom Blomqvist right behind in second and third.

Jean-Karl Vernay and Norbert Michelisz came next with their Velosters, with Luca Filippi sixth and last, some 2.4 seconds from the top time.

The FIA ETCR returns to the track on Saturday morning for the Pool Fast first qualifying session at 08:00 CEST.
