Jean-Karl Vernay and Maxime Martin claim victories in the Pool Fast quarter finals

Jean-Karl Vernay and Maxime Martin secured a win each in the Pool Fast quarter finals as the FIA ETCR season opener continued at Pau.

Vernay got ahead of the pack at the start of the first quarter final, with Tom Blomqvist overtaking team-mate Adrien Tambay to climb up to second place.

The Cupra EKS drivers continued battling together as Vernay opened a gap at the front and the Hyundai driver claimed the victory ahead of Blomqvist and Tambay.

Maxime Martin, driving the Romeo Ferraris Giulia ETCR, took first place at the start of the second quarter final, with Hyundai Motorsport N’s Norbert Michelisz in second place, and Luca Filippi, with the second Giulia ETCR, in third.

Martin came under pressure from Michelisz at the beginning, but was able to open a gap during the last lap to secure the victory ahead of the Hungarian, with Filippi in third place.

The ETCR returns to action for the Pool Furious quarter finals at 20:15 CEST.
