Jordi Gené claims Pool Fast pole position at Jarama

Cupra EKS driver Jordi Gené made the most of the early and warm track conditions at Jarama to claim his first FIA ETCR pole position.

The Spaniard, driving the Cupra e-Racer, set a best lap time of 1:37.123 to be the fastest driver of Pool Fast with team-mate Adrien Tambay two-tenths behind.

Romeo Ferraris’ Bruno Spengler took the Giulia ETCR to third place, six-tenths off the pace, with Hyundai Motorsport N’s Norbert Michelisz in fourth position, a further second behind.

Romeo Ferraris’ Luca Filippi qualified in fifth position, with Hyundai’s Jean-Karl Vernay sixth and last, 1.6 seconds behind Gené.

Gené has scored 15 points so far, three ahead of Tambay and with Spengler six points behind.

The FIA ETCR returns to the track at 12:00 CEST for the Pool Furious qualifying session.
