Adrien Tambay marches to Pool Fast victory at Jarama

Cupra EKS driver Adrien Tambay drove a consistent race in the Pool Fast super final to take a lights-to-flag victory at Jarama ahead of his team-mate Jordi Gené.

Tambay took the lead as the lights went out, with Gené overtaking Hyundai’s Norbert Michelisz to climb up to second.

Jean-Karl Vernay settled in fourth position with the second Hyundai Veloster N ETCR ahead of Romeo Ferraris drivers Bruno Spengler and Luca Filippi.

Gené closed the gap to race leader Tambay to just four-tenths when heading out onto the last lap.

Tambay claimed the victory at the chequered flag, with Gené keeping the pressure on his team-mate to finish in second place. Michelisz completed the podium.

Vernay fended off Spengler’s attacks to cross the line in fourth place ahead of the Canadian, with Filippi in sixth position.

After the Pool Fast competitions are completed, Tambay is the highest scoring driver of the weekend with 92 points, with Gené 12 points behind and Michelisz 31 points adrift.

The ETCR Pool Furious super final takes place at 18:10 CEST.
