Mikel Azcona tops Pool Fast qualifying at Vallelunga

Hyundai Motorsport N’s Mikel Azcona claimed pole position for the Pool Fast quarter final 1 after setting the fastest lap time in the combined qualifying session at Vallelunga.

The Spaniard had a best lap time of 1:19.885, 0.220 seconds ahead of Cupra EKS’ Adrien Tambay.

Bruno Spengler, driving a Romeo Ferraris Giulia ETCR, was third, a further tenth behind the championship leader. Hyundai Motorsport N’s Norbert Michelisz claimed fourth position, 0.382 seconds behind his team-mate.

Luca Filippi qualified in fifth position, just two-hundredths behind the Hungarian, with Cupra EKS’ Jordi Gené closing the classification in sixth place, half a second off the pace.

The ETCR returns to the track for the Pool Furious qualifying session at 13:00 CEST.
