Mikel Azcona penalised for quarter final incident

Hyundai Motorsport N’s Mikel Azcona has received a time-penalty for two incidents during Saturday’s Pool Furious quarter final 2 in his fight with Romeo Ferraris’ Luca Filippi.

Filippi led the race and the Spaniard fought to get past, first coming side-by-side with the Giulia ETCR driver and then going off the track and colliding with the Italian when rejoining.

The stewards found Azcona responsible for rejoining the track unsafely and causing a collision, handing the Spaniard a ten-second time-penalty.

As a result, Filippi has been promoted as winner of the Pool Furious quarter final two, with Azcona in second place.
