TCR Spain to continue in 2023 with new promoter

The TCR Spain series will continue in 2023 after a new promoter was found to take over the running of the championship.

The Spanish Motorsport Federation (RFEDA) announced earlier this year that it would no longer operate the Spanish Touring Car Championship, which included TCR Spain, leading to question marks over whether the series would continue.

Now, Rivazza Branding – a company from the same Motorismo Group that publishes leading motorsport magazine AUTOHebdo – will take over the promotion of TCR Spain after agreeing a three-year deal with WSC Group, with a four date calendar announced for 2023.

“It’s an honour to be able to promote a series such as TCR Spain, aspiring to be among the best in the international scene, organising an attractive and challenging championship for drivers, teams, manufacturers and the fans,” said Gabriel Alonso, chief executive officer at Rivazza.

“We are working with a lot of enthusiasm to have the best partners and offer great perks to enter the series.”

The season will start in June at Navarra, with the remaining three events taking place towards the end of the year to provide teams competing elsewhere in Europe with the opportunity to take in additional races.

2023 TCR Spain calendar:

24-25 June: Navarra
30 Sept / 1 Oct: Estoril
