TCR Italy eyes grid split between SEQ and DSG cars for Imola opener
The TCR Italy championship organisation has confirmed that it is investigating the possibility to run the categories for cars with sequential gearbox and DSG gearbox separately during the Imola season opener on April 22-23.
The move would mean a total of four races during the weekend instead of the usual two.
A requirement from the Italian Motorsport Federation for the categories to be run separately is at least 14 cars in each category, something the TCR Italy organisation states is “anticipated” for Imola.
Last season saw six DSG cars entered and the grid for the 2023 TCR Italy season opener is yet to be revealed.
