Paolo Rocca secures second MM Motorsport seat

MM Motorsport has announced Paolo Rocca as its second driver for the 2023 TCR Italy season.

Rocca competed with the team in the 2022 Coppa Italia Turismo, lifting the title ahead of Vedat Ali Dalokay thanks to five race wins – despite missing the event at Vallelunga.

Rocca becomes the second driver to be confirmed in one of MM’s Honda Civic Type Rs, with the team having already confirmed Niels Langeveld in a new FL5 model.

“I’m extremely pleased with this opportunity, which is a major leap in my racing career,” Rocca said. “It won’t be easy, but I feel ready for the task.

“TCR Italy delivers top-level competition with experienced drivers coming from all over Europe. But I’m so lucky to be in a professional team, with the benefit to share information with a champion like Niels Langeveld.”

Team principal Emanuele Alborghetti said he was pleased to promote Rocca into TCR Italy, with further driver announcements still to come.

“This year we have two defending champions,” he said. “We are proud to confirm Rocca as Langeveld’s team-mate. In 2022 he created a big surprise, which was testament to the value of the MM Driving Academy.

“I’m sure Paolo will be stunning in TCR Italy too. We will announce a third driver in the coming days.”
